Even people from out of town have heard of Donat, reputed to have the best ice cream in Zadar due to its creative flavors and funny, congenial scoopers. This is no small feat in ice-cream-mad Dalmatia, where competition among slasticarnama is fierce and people aren't properly accessorized without a cone. There is always a long line waiting to place orders. The tables outside are full for good reason. The ice cream is superb and available in an endless array of concoctions.
