Frommer's Review
Excellent pool facilities are among the draws for weekenders and day-trippers who patronize this newly renovated spa/hotel about an hour north of Zagreb. As of summer 2007, only 46 of the 136 rooms had been updated to include air-conditioning and satellite TV, so be sure to ask for a "new" room, even though it costs a little more. Since a Slovenian company known for converting aging spas took over in 2005, Tuhelj pool facilities have been transformed to rival those at a water park. Sections of the sprawling pool are connected by a "river current" so swimmers can float from water slide to water guns to covered water effortlessly. Besides a hotel, spa facilities, and an adrenaline park, Tuhelj has a small restaurant and bar, but swimmers also have the option of walking uphill to the more elaborate Dvorac Mihanovic for meals. Tuhelj is jammed on summer weekends and holidays and parking can be difficult.
