Frommer's Review
"Rms w vu" should be the motto of this modern-looking glass-and-metal tower off Trg Jelicica where many of the hotel's comfortable rooms look directly down on the Croatian hero's statue in the main square. Opened in 1929 as the Hotel Milinov, the hotel changed its name to Dubrovnik, added more than 150 rooms in a new glass-and-aluminum wing in 1982, and completed a total renovation in 2003 to make rooms in the old and new sections equally plush and modern. The hotel is well-equipped to handle the needs of business travelers and tourists alike, convenient to just about everything in Zagreb, and staffed with an exceptionally helpful group of people. The business suite (210€/$250) is an eye-popper and includes a rooftop terrace. The indoor tables of the hotel's Piccolo Mondo Restaurant outdoor tables of the hotel's ground-floor Dubrovnik Kavana comprise the undisputed "see and be seen" center of the city, especially on Saturday mornings.
