Zaragoza is a university town so things perk up around 11pm. A good place to begin an evening’s bar- and pub-crawl is Plaza Santa Cruz.

A popular tapas bar worth a visit is Casa Luis, Calle Romea, 8 (tel. 97-629-11-67). Shellfish tapas include oysters, shrimp, and razor clams in little bundles. The house cojonudos (toast topped with quail’s eggs, ham, and roasted red pepper) is the best version in town. Casa Luis is open most of the year (closed in June and last 3 weeks of November) Tuesday to Sunday 1 to 4pm and 7 to 11pm. House wine starts at 1.50€, and tapas range from 2€ to 8€.
