Frommer's Review
Try to have at least one meal here -- right in the park in the beautiful Zion Lodge -- during your national park vacation. The restaurant's decor -- handsome rock and a waterfall -- competes for your attention with the spectacular rock formations visible through the dining room's large windows (these are the rocks that the restaurant's name refers to). Breakfasts offer all the usuals, including a good buffet. At lunch, you'll find grilled salmon burgers, beef burgers, sandwiches, and salads. Although the menu changes periodically, usual house specialties at dinner include the excellent Santa Fe flat iron steak (grilled and topped with bleu cheese crumbles, pico de gallo, and seasoned onion straws), roasted stuffed chicken breast with red pepper cream sauce, chipotle tilapia fillets with wild rice, and trout amandine. There are also vegetarian items such as pasta Zion, with the pasta of the day topped with garlic, mushrooms, carrots, broccoli, zucchini, and oven roasted tomatoes, prepared in a white wine reduction. We heartily recommend the lodge's specialty ice creams and other desserts, such as the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake. The restaurant will pack lunches to go and offers full liquor service.
