Early 30s, Female Looking for Central or South America Group and Country Travel Recommendations for September
I’m taking time off between jobs in the fall and have the opportunity to travel for 6+ weeks. I’m headed to Costa Rica for a yoga training then want to venture out from there for a few weeks. I’m torn with staying in Central America or heading to South America. Need help and any suggestions on travel groups and favorite places! Details below…
Age/Gender: Early 30s, female
Places visited in South America: Ecuador and Peru (including Galapagos), no where in Central America
Length: 3 weeks
Budget: $3,000-4,000 (plus airfare), aiming to do an economical one by staying in hostels that have good ratings. Would rather spend on experiences than hotel or high-end food.
Time: Costa Rica in August, Open travel for September
Interests: 1. Outdoors: Hiking, beaches, snorkeling, jungle, love the outdoors! 2. Food: from 4 star to a street car, as long as it is authentic, local and delicious I’m down. 3. Culture: music, some museums and historic places
Safety: I’ll be traveling with a group, but will likely break off on my own during the night, so would like to be in a place that I can walk around at night and feel somewhat safe.
Travel Group: Researched Intrepid, G Adventures, Flash Pack, Go Collette and a few others. I’ve heard the best stories of travel groups and some horror stories.
Countries of Interest: Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Guatemala, Panama, Nicaragua… too many!
