Beware where you sit in Sri Lanka.

Dr. F -

Very interesting.  Thank you for calling this to our creepy crawly attention.

There are two other articles which are referenced at the bottom of the tartantula article.  Apparently, sitting down on a plane is not without its dangers, as well.

Snakes on planes -- there was a terrible movie about that some years ago, starring Samuel Jackson.  Snake probably got it's inspiration from that flick.

I'm not sure how you'd fit a monkey into your pants.....Actually, I don't want to know....

The airlines will collect an extra fee for carrying an animal in the pants.

That would be the " Bite Bite ".  In the case of the monkey, the Bite Bite is more properly known as " Primate Pay. ".

Incidentally, the monkeys are not keen on the full body scan.  Be careful, when pants transporting your primate, of volunteering for the pat down at airport security.  The rascals like that even less.

Actually, this is very sad that the animals are being smuggled and abused in this way.  What a pity.

An interesting story about the recent discovery of a new species of Tarantula in Sri Lanka.  http://www.travelandescape.ca/2013/04/giant-tarantula-found-in-sri-lanka/

Better watch where you sit when you're in the jungle.....Of course, there are arachnophilics who would love to cross paths with one of these beasties, but I'm not among them.
