I'm a double-diamond lover, so the harder the better. And a cute town, with fun apres ski options, would be a nice extra. Thanks for your help.

Look into Jay Peak, on the Canadian border.  Lots of development in the past couple of years, with a lot of slopeside and (some) off-resort lodging.  Sort of an international feel due to the number of French Canadians who drive down from Montreal.  Lots of natural snowfall.  Glades/woods skiing options.

Most Vermont ski areas are a few miles from a town of any size, and off-mountain nightlife is sparse.  One exception might be Okemo in Ludlow, which is located on the edge of town.

Wated to come back and report back. Went to Jay Peak and it was great. Great skiing and great atmosphere. We liked it so much, we may make a summer visit to hike around. Thanks again.
