Lisbon Excursions
Lisbon Walking Tour (3 hr.; $50): This walking tour takes in central Lisbon, rides the funicular Praca dos Restauradores and the Bairro Alto, where you can sample some port wine and visit the Sao Roque Church.
Fatima (6½ hr.; $80): Located 161km (100 miles) from Lisbon is the place known to Roman Catholics as the "Lourdes of Portugal." Here, in 1917, three shepherds claimed they saw the Virgin Mary in an oak tree. The town has since become a center of the Christian faith and world pilgrimage. After your guide introduces you to the imposing modern basilica, you'll have approximately 2 hours of independent time at the site.
Sintra & Cascais (4 hr.; $50): This tour visits two towns along the beautiful Estoril Coast. In Sintra, a serene, historic resort nestled in the forested hills of Serra de Sintra, you'll stop in the town square for shopping and pay an exterior visit to the Royal Palace. In the village of Cascais, you'll have time to stroll the cobblestone streets of the historic town center.
