The new Orlando Magicard is here, and it's good through February 28, 2004. This free card, a perennial Florida institution in its own right, can be had just by asking (and you don't even have to be nice about it, though we hope you will). You can request a card by calling or via the official Orlando tourism Web site.
America's favorite way to get around is by car, usually your own. If you want to visit somewhere within normal driving distance, go ahead, already. But say you have a hankering to see some sights or sites on the opposite coast or starting off a thousand miles away. Well, you can fly and drive, of course. But all that planning can give you a headache. Trumpets sound, and Cosmos steps in, doing everything for you, and costing as little as about $70 a day, per person.
That's right, instead of having to pay a premium for the US dollar when they visit Minnesota, Canadians can get an exchange rate of one US dollar for every Canadian dollar, instead of the official rate of about CDN $1.50 to one US simoleon. The program runs only through March 30, 2003, so there's not much time left. You have to show your passport or a Canadian driver's license to either pay for your lodging with Canadian currency at a one-to-one rate, or receive an equivalent discount when paying in US currency.

Reader's Voice
From Jane B.: "I'm an avid travel book reader, as well as traveller. I'd love to hear some travel book favorites others have - not guide books, but travel narratives. Good travel books inspire me to expand my comfort zone, travel-wise, as well as wile away the nights. Favorite travel authors are Eric Newby, Laurie Lee, Paul Theroux. I recently read Peter Hessler's book on his experience as a Peace Corps volunteer in China, 2 Yrs on the Yangtze (I think). Great personality, great commentary on cultural differences, fitting in."
From Joe Nemargut: "My wife and I recently traveled to France on American Airlines. As most of you have seen, they now advertise "More Leg Room" in coach. Well it's actually true! Being 6'2", I generally dread the person in front of me reclining in their seat. But I could actually move my legs even after they did. If you need the extra leg room, I recommend considering American Airlines!"
From John Bovell: "In November 2002 I had a confirmed reservation at Costa del Sol Golden Tulip, signed by the same directors now working and listed on thier web site. While there for the carnival in March I checked on my reservation only to find out , that was canceled. First they stated the rates were changed from what I was quoted in their confirmation. Next I was told the the parent company Golden Tulip had booked all the rooms and it was beyond their control."
From Jill C: "My husband and I would like to travel to the Caribbean in April. We like to hike, snorkel and would like to try sea kayaking. We're not too into the nightlife scene and would prefer someplace peaceful. We're also not interested in all-inclusive. Any suggestions for where we should go?"
From Jennifer Edwards: "Just returned from 6 day trip and stayed at the Vendome, a basic hotel, very clean with an excellent breakfast buffet and a knowledgeable and helpful receptionist."
