Here's a Suggested--and Friendly--Cruise Forum
From Ed Brown: "Those of us that surf the various cruise forums know some of them can be rather threatening because some of the "old timers" like to flame the new people trying to get information on the various aspects of cruising. Check out www.cruiseenvy.com. It's a nice friendly forum where folks will help you as much as they can with any of your questions."

From G. D. 'Moe' Greenwood: "I have several but perhaps the most basic one is this. Many folks complain about battery life on digitals. I have an Olympus D-510 zoom which, if I can believe the folks talking about it on the Internet, eats batteries like they were candy."
more> Back from Maui: A Trip Report
From VJ: "We've actually been home a couple of weeks but I have been in a state of depression due to the fact that I had to leave beautiful Maui. We stayed at the Royal Kahana & we had a very nice studio with a beautiful view of the ocean & we were able to sit on the lanai & whale watch. The first morning, we woke at 4 (7 our time), it was raining & the electricity was out on that part of the island. How serene & romantic."
more> Secrets Excellence in Punta Cana: A Very Romantic Resort
From Tatiana: "I went to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic in December 2002. I stayed at the resort called Secrets Excellence. The resort is absolutely amazing. It is definitely one of the nicest resorts that I have stayed at in the Caribbean. Since Secrets Excellence is an adults-only resort and it is isolated from the outside world, the resort is very romantic. The resort is ideal for those people who are in love. I was extremely pleased with the level of service at the resort, especially with the employees at the front desk. The lobby, restaurants, bars, swimming pools, spa, and fitness facility were impressive. I was also very happy with my room. It had a 4 poster king size bed, a large jacuzzi, a marble bathroom and shower, pillars and arches, and posh furniture."
more> 50% off Amtrak Coach fare for Veterans
From Robert Bump: "Visit VeteransAdvantage.com for details about just one of the many benefits of belonging to this organization, membership costing about $20 a year. I joined last year after reading about it here, but the benefit ended in December. I'd more than made up the cost of membership only with Amtrak savings just with my first trip. This year's Amtrak discounts are even better."
