Björking Up the Right Tree with This Sale: Nine European Cities Start from $198 Roundtrip if You Buy by March 31
The people of Iceland seriously believe in the "little people" (gnomes, elves, sprites or what you will), and apparently they also believe in the little pricetag. Case in point: Icelandair has slashed prices for an extended airfare sale to Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Glasgow, London, Oslo, Paris, Reykjavik and Stockholm. more>

Dig This: Volunteer to Research and Preserve History All Across America, Some Costing You $0

SARS Respiratory Illness in China
From Gail Hess: "We are scheduled to go to China in early May. Our tour company says it will not cancel the trip unless the state department issues a travel warning that we can NOT go to China. Otherwise they go. The trip includes 3 days in Hong Kong. How does everyone else feel? Right now we are just taking a wait and see attitude, but I am getting concerned!" more>

Just Back From Germany: A Trip Report
From Eric Dykstra: "Well I thought smart and took a vacation from college to catch an off-season deal. I flew from Detroit to Frankfurt for $350- RT. The hostels were cheap at around $15- a night. I did change my plan after thinking, and I went to Frankfurt, Köln, Bremen, Hamburg, Lübeck, Berlin, Dresden, Rothenburg, München, and Garmisch-Partenkirchen. I did find that many people my age spoke some very good English. My Deutsch has improved greatly. I am so ready to go back. I would say the most beautiful was the Königsee, and the Bavarian Alps. I came back a different person." more>

Food Costs on Bermuda: Fact or Fiction?
From Jackie Dueck: "Hi, Just planning a trip to bermuda for 2 weeks in mid-June. Curious if all the warnings about the cost of eating are that scary - should we be packing granola bars everywhere we go!? For us eating out is definitely part of the whole experience and we don't mind paying as long as it's reasonable. Can anyone offer the actual cost of an average meal with drinks or wine so that we may better budget?" more>

Nicaragua's Must-See Little Corn Island
From Clay Kemper: "If you plan to visit Nicaragua don't miss Little Corn Island. Two airlines--La Costena and Atlantic--serve Big Corn from Managua via Bluefields. The wharf on Big Corn is only about 1/4 mile from the airstrip. The panga to Little Corn costs $5 and takes about 45 minutes. Warning: It can be a wild E-ticket ride, powered by two 200hp outboard motors." more>

Bestfares.com: Is It Worth Joining?
From Michele Sullivan: "I am thinking about joining this, if only to get some relief from the high cost of flights to Italy this summer. They are advertising fares about $560 to Rome fron Washington DC, about $100 savings from the best price I could find. Of course it costs to join. I would love to hear from anyone who uses this company. Is it worth it?" more>
