"I have just come back from Barga which is just up the valley from Lucca. What a hidden gem it is too. Wonderful narrow streets and the people seem so nice too. There are not yet many tourists there but there seems to be a thriving artist colony and even the people who keep the bars and restaurants are all painters as well."
From rpchrist: "We are considering a visit to Tlaxcala next month and would love to hear any responses to the city. I am an architect and my partner a painter, so we are looking for a place with character and friendliness, but enough size to be lively too. We would prefer a place which is not overly touristic. In the back of our minds is the possibility of locating a place where we might relocate for half the year.
From DondonMA: "We are driving to Florida in August and plan to stop in Savannah. While there we want to go to the Lady and Sons restaurant. I watch Paula Deen on the Food Network and just love her, so we decided that would be one of our must-dos this vacation. Has anyone been there? Good, bad or indifferent, please respond."
From Elinor Rosen: "We're going to stay in Moab for two nights next October. We'll take day trips in that area from the motel. I'm hoping for some recommendations as where to stay in Moab -- also places to eat."
From Ed Jacobson: "Can you recommend a hotel in Tallin? It doesn't have to be luxurious, but clean, well maintained, private bath, and good beds in/near the tourist area."
