Misled by United: What Can We Do?
From Jim W: "My son booked a frequent flyer ticket to Japan as he was going there with his wife on a JET (teaching English) assignment for a year. The limit for booking the return was eleven months, but he was told by TWO agents (and I was standing next to him on the first conversation) that the return could be changed once he knew his departure date but before the ticked expired. Now United claims that the ticket cannot be changed." more> Great Frommer's Advice on Trip to Alaska
From Tami: "My family just returned from a wonderful 2 week trip to Alaska. As usual, I bought the Frommer's guide book to start my planning and it never steared us wrong! Thanks to the wonderful advice and tips your book gave, we had a vacation that we will never forget! We visited Anchorage, Seward, Girdwood, Denali National Park, Kenai Fjords National Park, Talkeetna, and ended our trip in beautiful Cordova. The scenery, wildlife and people were wonderful! Can't wait to go back and explore more of this great state!" more> I'm Back From Ireland! A Trip Report
From megan_s70: "I got back to Canada on Sunday from my 15-day vacation in Ireland. What an amazing country -- I miss it already! I saw many things, including the Dingle Peninsula, Ring of Kerry, the Blarney Stone, Cliffs of Moher, Giant's Causeway, the Burren, Kilarney National Park, stone circles, ancient burial grounds, several beautiful castles and cathedrals, Kilkenny, Waterford, Cork, Cobh, Tralee, Galway, Donegal, Bally Gally, Derry, Belfast, and Dublin, and so much more. Ireland has the perfect mixture of culture, history, incredible scenery, friendly people, quaint small towns, and vibrant metropolitan cities. I would go back in a heartbeat." more> Children Flying Alone
From rdgal: "I'm thinking of having my developmentally delayed daughter who is 13 (but is at a 7 or 8 year old level) fly alone with supervision by the airline. It would be on Northwest Airlines and have one stopover in Minneapolis. Would like to hear from parents who have had their children fly alone with supervision that the airlines provide, especially interested in Northwest Airlines. Thank you." more> Meet Local People in Buenos Aires for English
From Melody: "We are a group of people who practice English every Friday at a coffee shop in Buenos Aires. It's an easy going and informal meeting, free, just for pleasure. We have been meeting every Friday for over three years to practice our English. All are at a level that enables us to speak English fluently, which is a requirement to participate. We like to chat about ordinary things but traveling is our favorite subject. Every Friday, foreign travelers who are on holidays in Buenos Aires and are interested in meeting 'natives' visit us. This kind of exchange and sharing of cultures and points of view means learning and developing for all of us." more>
