Frequent Flier Mileage Lost
From Marilyn Brainard: "Was anyone else caught off-guard? I called to use some of my TWA mileage with American Airlines, and was informed the transfer agreement expired June 30th. I was told 3 letters were sent out notifying mileage holders. Well, I received none! I monitor AA with an online newsletter, and saw no notice there either. I have been a member of the AAdvantage program since 1999. Has any reader recovered lost miles?" more>

Roadtrips: How to Make Money Along the Way?
From Jamie Cowell: My best friend and I decided to take a roadtrip starting in late August and are planning to travel throughout the US. We have saved enough money to get started, but we are on a very tight budget. We are desperate for information on ways to make money along our journey (i.e. odd jobs, organizations, etc.). This roadtrip is our major goal and we are willing to get our hands dirty to make it happen! Any and all help will be greatly appreciated." more>

What's Been Your Irish B&B Experience?
From Walter E Strong: "C'mon now, give me the straight scoop! Just what has been your B&B experience in Ireland?!! I've heard that they sometimes fail to change the sheets and often 'forget' to turn on the hot water. Is there any truth to this or have I been fed a big line of jamuhlka? Inquiring minds want to know." more>

Rental Cars, Gasoline Prices and Interisland Travel in Hawaii
From Keven: "For those of you planning a trip to Hawaii be aware of the following. Hawaii just implemented a 5 cent gas tax statewide effective today. A gallon of gas on Maui is currently $2.32 a gallon. Premium is $2.52 a gallon. On Lanai a gallon of regular unleaded is hovering near the $3.00 per gallon mark. If this price gouging continues for any significant amount of time all of the islands will resemble a ghost town." more>
