Reader's Voice

United's Jackson Hole Package
From Mike Frederick: "Our friends at Frommer's came up with another winner. My wife and I were wondering where to go for our 10th wedding anniversary and, lo and behold, we found a featured package to Jackson Hole, WY. For a very reasonable $879 apiece we got four nights' accommodation in Teton Village and airfare from DC. Not bad for high season." more>

Small Village in France
From Shannon AuCoin: "My husband and I are planning a trip to France and would like to now if anyone as a suggestion for a small 'typical' French Village. We are looking for one that is not overrun by tourists. The type where you can wake up in a small inn and grab fresh bread for Breakfast. Someting historic and quaint. Cobblestone streets and the like. Any help would be great!!" more>

US Currency Devaluation
From J. Williams: "My wife and I are planning a trip to Italy and Corsica in October. We are more than a little concerened about the declining value of the dollar versus the Euro. We are curious what the 'real' effect of the declining value will be on this trip versus say, two years ago. We enjoy traveling on a shoestring budget, but want to be prepared. Is there anyone who has been over recently that could give us an idea?" more>

Washington State Wineries
From Betsy Dougherty: "We would like to take a tour of some Washington wineries in the Columbia river area and would be interested in any information anyone could share. We would probably fly into Portland, rent a car and drive up the river valley. Any tips on places to stay or sights to see? Would it be better to fly out of Seattle or Spokane instead of backtracking?" more>

Other Cheap Europe Airlines
From Cat Warner: "I'm planning on travelling to/through Europe to meet up with a friend working in the middle East. I have found that flying into London (or other European Hubs) and then looking at using Ryan Air seemingly is cheaper to get to some of the places that I'd like to go. But I know there have to be other airlines besides Ryan Air that offer discount one-way or roundtrip pricing. What other cheap-airfare airlines in Europe are there? Where do they travel to and from? What are their hubs?" more>
