Some major airlines are waking to the growing consumer interest in no-fee credit cards.
We've seen travel prices rise and fall with the seasons, with each burp in the economy, and with each terror alert and the calm that inevitably follows the Sturm und Drang. Now to reward us for our patience come some fantastic deals on trips to Prague -- with prices starting at less than $90 a night, including airfare.
Let's face it; visiting Mexico without seeing some mariachis is like going to Hawaii and avoiding the beaches. In September, a mariachi festival in Guadalajara celebrates this musical tradition in all its toe-tapping, finger-snapping glory, making this a perfect month to plan a South-of-the-Border vacation.
Alaska is one of the world's premier destinations for adventure, wildlife and ecotourism. September marks the end of the summer season and the final opportunity of the year for visitors to experience some of the splendors of Alaska's rich and diverse wildlife in moderate climate.

Reader's Voice
From Tom Christensen: "I am interested in what Frommer's readers have to say concerning the bold move by Northwest Airlines to initiate a fee if tickets are booked anywhere other than their website. I understand this decision was made to lower their domestic distribution costs, doing so to control their costs and align themselves with low-cost carriers to remain competitive."
From Betty Filgueira: "I signed up for www.globalfreeloaders.com and just hosted our first guests. They are a lovely middle-age couple from Perth, Australia who are doing a trip around the world. We were their stop in Miami. I must say this was a wonderful experience. We were able to share our views and experiences, our life styles, our families and our future ambitions."
From DaBul: "We've been trying to find a larger condo or home in the Lake Louise area that would accommodate 7-8 adults with no success. All accommodations seem to be hotel rooms or small condos. Has anyone had any luck in this area?"
From Sandy Partrich: "We just returned from Destin, Florida. The weather was perfect, the water was as blue as the Caribbean and we didn't have one bad meal. Captain Daves, Crab Trap, even Callahans (the locals favorite deli and homecooked meals) were all good. We stayed at the Emerald Towers and were very pleased although there are several new condo units to chose from in the destin area. Seaside and Rosemary beach are worth a visit."
From Diane McMunn: "I have lived in Connecticut 16 years and finally went to Block Island a week ago. It was a very breezy overcast day, but we had a great time. I strongly encourage first timers to take the Taxi Island Tour. It was an hour and 15 minutes of interesting information I know we would have not learned otherwise. The other couple with my husband and I had lived in Rhode Island at one time and had been to Block Island several times, but were also unaware of all the facts we learned. I can hardly wait to go again -- plan to take our daughter and her boyfriend in October."
