Leafers, Peepers: Fall Foliage Tours in Canada and the Northeast for Cheaper
It just wouldn't be fall without journeying off to take in the brilliant vistas of an autumnal landscape painted in bright swaths of reds, oranges and yellows. We've dug up some great deals to get out to the countryside without breaking the bank. more>

I See London, I See France: Cheap Railfares (and Fast Trains) Make the Continent a Daytrip out of England
Fares to London are getting absurdly low this fall and winter. As we reported last week, we've seen airfares as low as $186 from New York and $309 from the West Coast this winter. These very low fares, combined with some new rail options, make London a terrific jumping-off point for a combined Britain-France vacation. more>

More Three-fers for Wings and Wheels
Travel deals often come in threes. With two three-fers today, from JetBlue and Avis, we hit the trifecta: combined with the Quikbook deal we described yesterday, there are now three-fer bonuses for flights, cars and hotels. more>

Reader's Voice

Flight Dilemma / Western Europe
From Melisa: "Hi there, I'm going to Spain through a study abroad program, $5300 with airfare for 3 months. I really want to stay behind & backpack Europe for a month or two. The problem is, I only get $400 refund if I decide not to book a flight through the program. Would I be paying an arm & leg if I arrived in Madrid & departed from a different Country? Is it possible to keep the return flight date open, just in case I want to work UK? Any suggestions on what I could do? I'm completely lost!" more>

Float Planes vs Helicopters
From Jane Garner: "We will be on a first time cruise to Alaska and have read brochures offering sightseeing trips by float plane. I've been in a helicopter but not a float plane. Could anyone tell me how the ride compares--are we likely to experience motion sickness by float plane? Also would like comments on the excursion to Misty Fjords by floatplane out of Ketchikan. Is it worthwhile? What about Mendelhall Glacier by helicopter?" more>

Tips for Saving Money on Food and Restaurants
From sasha1966: "I will be traveling to Maui and Kauai for a conference. We got a great group rate at the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua on Maui and the Princeville resort on Kauai. The onsite restaurants are pretty expensive (only breakfast and 2 receptions are included with the conference). I plan at stopping at a grocery store or Kmart on the way to the hotels and wondered what would be the smartest food items to buy that would be healthy and fulfilling, inexpensive, and could be kept outside a fridge or in an ice bucket?" more>

York NOT New York
From Diana Price: "We plan to visit York, where my great-great grandparents lived in the 1870's. Are there any websites that anyone can recommend or discussions about York." more>

Brussels & Amsterdam Using Go-Today
From BAM: "Just returned from a GoToday combination trip to Amsterdam and Brussels and had a wonderful time. This was our third GoToday trip and we have a fourth in November (could only travel this much due to the value of their packages)." more>
