The Lowest London Fares Ever? $179 Across the Atlantic!
Every time we write about fares to London, we think they couldn't possibly get any lower. But they do. First, airlines offered $200 roundtrips. Then Virgin Atlantic pitched in with $186. Now 1-800-Fly Europe (a reliable and well-known consolidator) is serving up a $179 roundtrip fare from New York or Boston to London. That's under $300 with taxes. more>

Reader's Voice

New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island in Fall
From Lucie Bryar: "My husband and I are planning a trip to NB and PEI in mid-October. We are most interested in scenery such as the Bay of Fundy and the reverse falls, etc. Is this a bad time of year to visit? Where is the best vantage point to view the tides? Should we skip PEI at this time of year (too cold?) and concentrate on driving the Cabot Trail and visiting NB?" more>

Beautiful People (Natives & Travellers) on Beautiful Beaches
From Michel Laflamme: "My wife and I, and Canadian friends, just love going to the Dominican Republic, namely Punta Cana. The Dominicans are very nice, welcoming and friendly. What we love most if the variety of tourists, with a nice european flavour: French, Swedish, British, German. We quickly make friends with them and the Dominicans, and share our beach time and day and nite activities. What is most appealing is how liberal the beaches are, for both women and men." more>

Online Travel Packages
From Lucus Finker: "Just curious, how many people have tried using the online travel packages that include airfare, hotel and car rental? I've always been hesitant to do this but a friend of mine just went to Miami with a travel package from Orbitz and paid $200 less than me, and I didn't even get a car!" more>

Sez Reader: "Expedia.com is Unethical"
From Rick Cohoon: "I recently did a price search for a round-trip ticket from Chicago to Shannon, Ireland leaving June 11, 2004 and returning June 21, 2004. Their lowest fare screen offered an unbelievable price of $225.90 per person round-trip on Aer Lingus. My wife and I, naturally, were excited and went to immediately book the fare. Upon booking, we got a screen that said that the price had changed to over $800 per ticket." more>

Fall European Wine Festivals
From William Reinson: "We are planning a trip to Germany, Eastern France, and Switzerland from October 10 thru 17. Does anyone know of any wine festivals or small town festivals that will be held during this time. Thanks." more>
