Irish eyes will be smiling on you this fall and winter with cut-price packages and airfares to the Emerald Isle. So if the idea of a round of golf followed by a pint of beer and a night at a 13th century castle appeals, Ireland is your destination.
As we start sliding into chillier temps, the mercury starts rising south of the equator. Here are a few of our favorite packages to get you there on the cheap.
Flights and packages are reasonable and timed right for a cultural excursion & the Chinese New Year.
There's good news, and there's bad news. The economy and tourism are back again in full force, so the town's a-hoppin' but with that comes a bigger bill.

From christina kelly: "I just returned from 5 weeks in Vietnam and had a few recommendations and cautions."
From Sekhar Saya: "My wife and I have just finished a 7 day (excluding travel) trip to Italy, our first. Normally I do not think about writing trip reports, but I had gotten so much information from these boards, I feel it is only fair that I share my experiences. I have organized the trip report based on various topics such as hotels, tours, guides, dining, transportation, etc in the three cities we visited."
Frpm Bob Wikman: "We have made several scenic driving tours which generally include national parks within the itineraries. In planning our road trips, we use several web sites as well as write for hard copy tour info from state/city tourism and from private tour operators. We never use tour groups, but instead only use the written info to make our plans. Some tour operators give so much detail that it is easy to pick up ideas on what to see. In this way our trips are flexible and easily changed as we go. I am wondering if you have any hidden secrets or less well known web sites (than what I have listed) where info is available about scenic driving tours."
From Trish Carper: "Good Morning! A friend and I just returned from a week-long trip in the Black Hills of SD. Part of that time was spent in the city of Deadwood. I wanted to highly recommend a small hotel there -- the Bullock Hotel. It has been recently renovated and we had such a nice stay there. The room was not luxurious but it was large, clean and comfortable. What I liked most about the hotel was its size, location and character. The hotel is smaller and located near the end of the strip within walking distance of shopping and casinos. It's character has been maintained and we felt safe and comfortable. The staff is also friendly and very accommodatinge staff there was very friendly and accomodating. The prices were very reasonable. It's said to be haunted but unfortunately we didn't run into any ghostly guests while we were there."
From Kirsten Roddy: "We just got back from a 12-day trip to Greece and wanted to give a report to help all of you trying to plan a trip there -- and as a thanks to all of you who posted messages we used to plan our trip. Our goal was to get a good sampling of Greece, not to know one place inside and out. This is a long message, but hopefully it's helpful to someone."
