Following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, the vacation plans of New Orleans-bound travelers is just a small footnote compared with the vast loss of life and the drowning -- temporary or not -- of New Orleans' social, historical, and cultural patrimony. Nevertheless, here are the facts.

From jsklerov: "We are booked on the Celebrity Galaxy cruise leaving Rome on October 7. The ports are Naples, Mykonos, Santorini, Messina (Sicily), Villefranche, Genoa and back to Rome. We took the Celebrity trip out of Amsterdam in May, and was disappointed with the cruise line's cost and quality of the trip to St. Petersburgh. Want to avoid that experience on the Rome cruise. Any suggestions for private tours and how to arrange for them before leaving the US?"
From wrrllw: "Having cruised with Princess in the Mediterranean for the past two summers, I'm looking at the Eastern or Southern Caribbean for summer 2006; and the itinerary that currently attracts me most is with Royal Caribbean, on the Adventure of the Seas (out of San Juan). I'd be interested in thoughts about the two cruise lines (especially from from people who've cruised with both)."
From lrhewes: "I would like to suggest to my extended family that we all go on a cruise in the spring. Ages range from 28 to 82 (but a spry 82). Italy is a must. Can anyone recommend a cruise line and tell me why to pick that one over others?"
From kittykatkarol: "We have booked a May, 2006 Baltic cruise on Princess. According to their shore excursion information and Peterhof's website, Peterhof is closed on Mondays and the last Tuesday of every month (the two days our ship will dock in St. Petersburg). Will we miss one of the great sights? Also (according to Princess), the Hermitage is closed on Mondays. I don't understand why our ship would dock in St. Petersburg those two days. What are the other must see sights that we would be able to fit in our two days?"
From quethers: "We are taking a 12-day Bergen to Kirkenes and back to Bergen coastal voyage. Norwegian Coastal Voyage used to have a discount excursion package, but they withdrew it this year. The following are a list of excursions we are contemplating taking; the prices are a little steep. We are asking for advice and help from those who have taken the excursions to tell us which of the following trips are worth taking."
