As the weather turns cooler, the peak season for travel to Hawaii begins with travelers eager to escape the chills of winter. This fall and winter season, trade your snow boots and long johns for a bikini and a lei and take advantage of these sun-sational deals.

Hawaiian island specialists, Hawaii Aloha (tel. 800/843-8771; offers countless Hawaiian vacation options including the following current specials:

  • From San Francisco, fly Delta Airlines and spend seven nights at the Aston Aloha Surf Hotel with daily continental breakfast for $570. Add car rental for an additional $25 per day.
  • From Seattle, fly to Maui on Northwest Airlines and spend five nights at the Aston Maui Lu Hotel for $646 per person.
  • From Detroit, fly to Kauai on Delta Airlines and stay five nights at the Aston Islander Hotel with daily breakfast for $975.
  • For $899 fly from Kansas City to Maui on Delta Airlines and stay five nights in a studio condo at the beachfront Lahaina Shores.
  • For $934 fly Delta Airlines from Houston to the Big Island (Kona) and stay five nights at the Royal Kona Resort

Hawaiian Airlines (tel. 800/236-5451; has a selection of "Mele" fares starting at $308 plus taxes for round-trip flights to Honolulu from Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, San Francisco or Sacramento ($328 from Seattle, Portland or Phoenix). These prices are available through January 31, 2006 for departures from December 1-13, 2005 and December 26, 2005, to January 31, 2006, and returning from Honolulu from December 1-25, 2005, and January 8-31, 2006. (Mele fares may be unavailable on certain dates from Seattle or Portland). Add a flight to another Hawaiian island for an additional cost of $100 for direct connections. Connection time between flights must be less than four hours.

Hawaiian Airlines also has "Hot Deals" on package vacations including the following from Los Angeles and San Francisco):

Stay at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa for four nights and get the fifth night free. A package with round-trip airfare, a five-night stay at the Marriott and a $75 food and beverage credit (redeemable at the Kuhio Beach Grill, the Moana Terrace Bar and Grill or through hotel room service) starts from $770 per person. Travel valid from now until December 20, 2005 and includes all taxes.

A three-night stay at the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel with an ocean view rooms starts from $564 per person including round-trip airfare. Stay longer and get every third night. Valid until December 2, 2005 and includes all taxes.

Stay in the heart of Waikiki, choose from the Sheraton Waikiki, The Royal Hawaiian, Sheraton Moana Surfrider or the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani and spend four-nights including round-trip airfare starting from $613 per person. For a limited time, the first 50 packages sold for travel between October 17 and 28, 2005 (during the Hawaii International Film Festival), will include two Flash passes (all-access VIP film passes), two invitations to the Opening Night Gala on October 20, two invitations to the Awards Show October 28, two complimentary tickets to the Contemporary Museum Honolulu, two LVHIFF T-shirts and two LVHIFF canvas bags.

Cruises N' More (tel. 800/733-2048; is featuring a special on its seven-night Pride of Aloha cruise, starting in Honolulu and visiting Hilo, Kona, Kaui and Maui from $899 per person based on dual occupancy in an inside cabin, $949 to $999 in an outside cabin and $1,349 to $1,399 in a balcony cabin.

Sailing dates are November 13, 27 and December 4 and 11, 2005. Included in this price is round-trip airfare from Los Angeles or San Francisco to join the cruise and airport transfers. Add a two-night hotel stay in Honolulu for just $199 per person. Other departure cities available for additional cost.

American Airlines Vacations (tel. 800/321-2121; is giving away bonus frequent flier miles when you book one of its Hawaii vacation packages from New York. Packages include round-trip airfare, airport transfers and five-nights' accommodations with hotel taxes.

In Honolulu, stay at the Ohana Waikiki Malia for $815, ResortQuest Pacific Monarch (where kids eat, stay and play for free) for $891 or the Outrigger Waikiki for Maui Ka'anapali Villas for $967 or the Maui Price for $1,164. In Kauai, stay at the Sheraton Kauai for $1,190 or on the Big Island, stay at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott for $1,039 or the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel (with a $100 food and beverage credit) for $1,398. Packages must be booked by October 31, 2005 for travel from New York between now and June 30, 2006. Taxes are additional and these prices are only available for certain departure days.
