Most travel providers are coming out with their fall and winter specials to Jamaica. With so many options to choose from, it can be a little confusing. For many, budget will be the deciding factor, but for others it may be the hotel, the length of a package, location or the all-inclusive factor.

If you are looking for a warm winter escape, Liberty Travel (tel. 800/447-1353; www.libertytravel.com) is already promoting an early 2006 package deal to Montego Bay. Book by December 15, 2005 and travel from January 2 to March 31, 2006 to enjoy five nights at the three-and-a-half-star Rose Hall Resort and Country Club. The package price starts from $899 per person plus taxes and includes round-trip airfare from Miami, five-nights' accommodation with hotel taxes, airports transfers, all meals, snacks and beverages, activities and non-motorized water sports. Other departure points are available at additional costs including $96 from Philadelphia, $100 from Atlanta, $120 from New York, $130 from Boston or $250 from Los Angeles.

For a quick midweek getaway, Air Jamaica Vacations (tel. 888/307-4359; www.airjamaicavacations.com) is offering a special three-night "Ultra All-Inclusive" vacation at Sandals Grande Ocho Rios Beach and Villa Resort from $819 per person plus taxes from New York, Newark, Atlanta, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Baltimore or Orlando. You must book by September 30, 2005 and travel from now until December 26, 2005. This represents a saving of 25%-50% per couple. The package includes round-trip air on Air Jamaica or Delta Air Lines, three-nights in a Manor House Select mountain view room; all meals, snacks and unlimited cocktails; round-trip on-island airport/hotel transfers; hotel taxes and service charges; land & non-motorized water sports; entertainment and all gratuities. Add $30 from Philadelphia, $40 from Chicago or $120 from Los Angeles.

For a less expensive alternative, Air Jamaica Vacations can fly you to Ocho Rios for a three-night package staying at the Sandcastles Resort. Prices start at $569 per person based on double occupancy on a European plan (i.e., not all-inclusive) that includes round-trip airfare from New York on a Monday, Tuesday or Friday, transfers and three-nights' accommodation. This offer is valid for travel until December 16, 2005.

As part of its fall sale, Air Jamaica Vacations has a discounted package from New York to Montego Bay, staying at the Point Village Resort in Negril. Prices start at $699 per person based on double occupancy and includes round-trip airfare on a Monday, Tuesday or Friday, three-nights in a Studio Garden view room; on-island transfers to hotel; taxes and service charges; all meals, snacks and unlimited premium brand drinks; land and non-motorized water sports; entertainment and all gratuities. This price is valid for travel between now and December 22, 2005.

Fem Trip (tel. 877/336-8747; www.1877femtrip.com/index.htm) is offering a special fall package including round-trip airfare with stays at the four-star Starfish Trelawny all-inclusive beach resort, nestled along a perfect stretch of pristine white sand beach, less than half an hour from the Montego Bay airport. As an added extra, greens fees at Ironshore Golf Course (one per person, per day) are also included. With departures from Chicago, the package is priced from $629 for three nights (departing November 2, 9, 16 & 30; and December 3 and 14, 2005), seven-nights (departing November 2, 9, 16 & 30; and December 7, 2005) from $909 or $30 more departing December 14, 2005.

A-TimeToTravel.com (tel. 800/551-5118; www.a-timetotravel.com) has a few Jamaica deals that may be of interest. Their last-minute, seven-night package out of Chicago is priced from $899 per person for travel dates between September 24 and October 1, 2005. The deal includes round-trip airfare and seven-nights' accommodation at the all-inclusive Riu Negril or Riu Tropical Bay resorts. Upgrade to stay at Breezes Runaway Bay for $1,099 or Couples Ocho Rios for $1,149 per person plus taxes.

For a luxurious five-night stay, A Time To Travel is offering packages good until December 15, 2005. Prices start at $840 per person staying at the Jamaica Ritz or Sandals Inn, $985 staying at the Royal Plantation $985 ($1,625 for all-inclusive), $1,025 at Sandals Grande Ocho, $1,050 at Couples Ocho, $1,095 at Beaches Boscobel, $1,140 at Beaches Sandy Bay or $1350 at Beaches Negril. All these deals must be booked by September 24, 2005, and taxes are additional.

Best Caribbean Tour (tel. 888/362-2378; www.bestcaribbeantour.com) offers hot deals for its packages to the Montego Bay area. Fly from Detroit on November 7, 14 or 28, 2005, and pay only $600 per person plus taxes for round-trip airfare and seven-nights' accommodation at Doctors Cave Beach Hotel. Add $20 for December 5, 2005 departure.

As the name suggests, All Inclusive Deals (tel. 866/954-3678; www.allinclusivedeals.com) can hook you up with packages for stays at all-inclusive resorts throughout Jamaica. Travel from now until October 31, 2005 and receive a seven-night package at an all-inclusive from $485 per person (land-only). The $485 price is staying at The Royal Decameron or pay $765 at Riu Negril $878 at Breezes Runaway or $914 at Couples Ocho Rios. Prices include all meals, drinks, cocktails, activities, taxes and tips. International airfares are additional, and this offer expires September 20, 2005.

Travelocity (www.travelocity.com) has super cheap airfares to Jamaica during the fall. As a sample, how about New York to Montego Bay midweek in November flying with Continental Airlines for a paltry $227 plus taxes round-trip? United Airlines (tel. 800/538-2929; www.united.com) can get you there during October and November for around $270 plus taxes, so obviously fall is a great season to visit Jamaica on a budget.
