Three Nights in Maui, from $485 With Air

Save almost $150 this fall by booking this three-night Maui vacation package, which includes airfare and hotel.

If all the East Coast rain and tropical storms are making you yearn for some warmth and some sun, look to Pleasant Holidays (tel. 800/742-9244; www.pleasantholidays.com) for this three-night Maui vacation, from $485 with airfare.

Visit Maui this fall, and spend three nights at the oceanfront Kaanapali Ocean Inn, at the base of the West Maui Mountains. This inn is on the grounds of Royal Lahaina Resort, which means you have access to its amenities for a fraction of the price. The budget-friendly hotel is also right on the ocean, but it's also close to shopping and restaurants. For $4 more per person, starting from $489, you can opt to stay in a condo property, Lahaina Shores. Enjoy a studio with a full kitchen; the condo also has an on-site whirlpool spa and pool.

Why this is a deal? The entire Pleasant Holidays package, including the government taxes and fees, comes to $524 with taxes and fees. If booked separately, according to a Kayak search, departures on Monday Sept. 26 from Seattle to Kahului start at $417 for a nonstop flight. Three nights at Kaanapali Ocean Inn would cost about $141 per night for a standard room, or $423 for three nightsÂ?before we consider taxes. Three nights' hotel would then come to $211.50 per person. If you booked airfare and hotel separately, the trip would cost about $628 per person, or about $667.50 with the $39 in government taxes added in.

Booking this Pleasant Holidays package would save you about $143 per person when compared to buying each component separately.
