This is the first time Costa is offering routes with a port of call in Israel since 2001. Ashdod, Israel, is a modern city from where you can visit Jerusalem and Bethlehem. Wee Wee Fares for Barge Cruises in France

French Country Waterways (tel. 800/222-1236; www.fcwl.com) is offering 10 to 20% off published fares for early bookings of 2009 luxury barge cruises made by Dec. 31, 2008. April, May, June, Sept. and Oct. sailings receive a 10% reduction, and July and August, 20%. Combining this offer with Value and Shoulder Season discounts of $500 and $1,000, respectively, means early bookers can save between $780 and $2,039 or up to 25%. Early-booking fares range from $5,836 to $7,376 vs. normal fares of $7,795 to $8,195 per person, double.
