Southwest Airlines Vacations (tel. 800/243-8372; www.swavacations.com) has some special deals to two Walt Disney World resorts. From Albany, New York, a two-night trip with round-trip airfare to Orlando, hotel, and one-free all day pass to the Park starts at $429 for travel good from August 22 to October 4, 2005. Accommodations are at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge with Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday departures. The same trip from Austin, goes for $474; from Baltimore, a similar two-night with round-trip flight, accommodations at the Pop Century Resort, and a one-day pass starts at $284 per person with Monday, Tuesday or Thursday departures. From Chicago's Midway Airport, the trip with accommodations at the Pop Century Resort goes for just $314 per person. Bookings must be made seven days in advance of departures. Security taxes and departure fees are not included. These prices are based on double occupancy lodging. A warning to adults, the Pop Century Resort is extremely kid-oriented. The hotel theme is 20th Century pop culture and everywhere you look you see a child's action figure or plaything or a different colored ball or slide or swing. For kids, on the other hand, the place is paradise.
US Air Vacations (tel. 800/422-3861; www.usairwaysvacations.com) also has vacation packages to Walt Disney World, specifically some of the nicer hotels in the Orlando area close to the park. Using the site's search engine, we found a host of three-night trips out of Charlotte, North Carolina with August departures that all include round-trip airfare and hotel. Costs for this trip start at $379 with accommodations at the Best Western Lake Buena Vista Hotel which is within the Walt Disney World resort area. You can upgrade your three-night stay to Disney's Polynesian Resort by paying $753. The Polynesian is one of Disney's earliest hotels. It's a romantic getaway for adults looking for a South Sea's escape and little privacy amidst a Disney vacation.
If you want to book your hotel directly through Disney and take care of your own airfare, Walt Disney's website has several deals to Walt Disney World (www.disney.com) to choose from. For a three-night trip starting on Thursday, September 22, 2005 and ending Sunday, September 25, 2005, Disney has some great deals on hotels. With a maximum room occupancy of four with two adults and two children, rooms at Disney's child-crazed All-Star Movies Resort goes from $77 to $131 per night for the entire gang. The same prices apply for Disney's All-Star Sports Resort. These deals also include Disney's Magical Express Service, which means once you arrive in Orlando, you don't even have to pick up your baggage. The Mouse does it for you. He'll also take you to your hotel so you don't have to worry about any airport transportation hassles. The site's handy Resort Comparison takes you through all of Disney's hotel categories, including camping, value, moderate and deluxe resort types. You can also get you tickets to the park at the site as well. One-day adult tickets go for $59.75; children's one-day passes cost $48. While the site lists no phone number, any questions or help you need booking your vacation can be answered at https://secure.disney.go.com/wdw/contact/contactUs.
