You can't beat Mexico for tourist deals. The old pro at creating North America's best beach packages with more than ten waterfront resort towns on both the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean, Mexico still has some low-down priced deals to take advantage through this winter. So escape the cold and those horrific Nor' Easters with an all-inclusive package deal to Mexico's Pacific Coast.
Deals to Puerto Vallarta, once a quiet fishing village and now a robust vacation destination, are in full swing if you book by mid-March and travel by late April. Beach Destinations (tel. 877/433-4378; www.beachdestinations.com) has several deals there, which is also just off the radar of those crazy Spring Breakers who seem to take over Cancun and Acapulco through March. A five-day all-inclusive trip with airfare out of Houston is available right now for 35% off of normal price starting from $439. You need to book this trip by March 16, 2005 with travel good between April 3 and June 30, 2005. Meals, drinks and entertainment are included in the above price with accommodations at the Villas Vallarta by Canto del Sol, a 152-room property labeled "superior" by the website. Air taxes and security feels are not included, while hotel taxes and gratuities are.
For an even more remote Mexican experience than Puerto Vallarta, Beach Destinations has a three-night, air-land special to Ixtapa that goes for $515 with travel good from March through May 2005. No meals are included in this package that puts you up at the beachfront Radisson Ixtapa. Departures are mid-week for this quick jaunt that also leaves out of Houston but has slight add-ons good from other United States departure cities.
Sun Trips (tel. 800/464-2719; www.suntrips.com) has specials out of several cities to Cabo San Lucas for affordable package prices. To take advantage of some last minute deals, meaning you have to leave March 5, 2005 or March 8, 2005, check out the details on some seven or three-night trips available on the site to Puerto Vallarta. You can choose from several different hotel properties for these trips that start at $399 for the three-night packages and $559 for the seven-night trips. The company consistently offers some decently priced package deals, so if you can make these specific dates, check back periodically to see what new offers they thrown up on the site.
Four Vacations (www.4vacations.com) has a seven-day "Dream's Resort" trip to Puerto Vallarta available if you book by March 27, 2005 that includes air from a host of United States gateways and lodging at a four-star beachfront property. Located at the foot of the Sierra Madres, the Dream's Resort boasts its own private cove. Travel is good for this long vacation through April 8, 2005. All meals and snacks and alcoholic beverages are included in the package price as well. Pricing for this trip starts around $1,535 from Newark and $1,485 from Miami.
If brand new hotels are your thing, Four Vacations has a four-day/three-night package for a special introductory rate of $568 per person at the sparkling new Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas. Travel is good through April 30, 2005 with accommodations in a junior suite so you can enjoy the new hotel's amenities. The online only travel provider that culls the Web for the best package deals has other great offers as well, so have fun cruising their many deals.
