The "Argentina Online 10-Day Adventure," offered by Marnella Tours (tel. 866/993-0033;, is a great deal for a number of reasons. This ten-day trip takes you through various landscapes of Argentina, with time spent in the city and in nature, from Buenos Aires to Iguazu Falls to Ushuaia and El Calafate. Although the price quoted starts from $1,360 does not include airfare, the trip includes most of your meals, hotel taxes and service fees, transfers, daily excursion fees, and park entrance fees. You have an itinerary, but for the most part, it is an independent trip. A company representative meets you at the beginning, and you have local assistance available 24/7 in case of any problems or questions.

Day one starts off with an arrival in Buenos Aires, touring the city's architectural attractions such as Plaza de Mayo, Casa Rosado, Metropolitan Cathedral, along with key neighborhoods. During the first evening, you'll be treated to a dinner and tango performance at La Ventana. After an overnight at De Las Americas Hotel, the next morning, you're off on a flight to Puerto Iguazu, where you will visit the National park and walk along the footbridges to view Iguazu Falls, one of the first protected areas in South America, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. You'll spend two nights in Iguazu Falls. From there, the trip takes you to Ushuaia for three nights, for exploring Tierra del Fuego National Park, exploring the firebushes, beech trees, and Lapataia Bay, at the southernmost point of the continent. Sail the Beagle Channel in the afternoon and view Les Eclaireurs lighthouse. Finally, you spend three nights in El Calafate, with the itinerary including a visit to Perito Moreno Glacier, an active continental glacier, and a full-day excursion to Upsala Glacier to view the icebergs that have detached--Upsala is the largest continental glacier in the Southern Hemisphere. A flight will take you back to Buenos Aires, where you have the option to extend the trip to Bariloche, Valdes Peninsula or Torres del Paine, or board your international flight home.

The special is good for travel October 2007 through the end of March 2008, which according to company representative John Tavera, corresponds with ideal weather in the Patagonia. The rate does not change, however, unless you request a different hotel, for example. Regarding airfare, Tavera says the company can help you book discounted flights through all major American and Latin American carriers. To find the deal, click on "specials" and then scroll down.
