Stay Free, Ski Free at Park City's Sky Lodge

Guests who book the four-night "Stay Free, Ski Free" package for stays before April 15 (which includes lift tickets daily to either Park City Mountain Resort or Deer Valley Resort) will receive their fourth night and their lift tickets on the fourth day for free.

This boutique resort overlooking Main St. and Bald Mountain has ski-in/ski-out access to Park City Resort and has complimentary shuttle service to Deer Valley Resort. Its one-, two- and three-bedroom suites start at 1,200 square feet, and feature kitchenettes, private bedrooms, attached private baths and hot tubs. For apr├ęs-ski options, head to the rooftop lounge, Sky Blue.

We checked dates in late March and April and found a two-bedroom suite for $637 per night, down from $799 -- a 20% savings off the bat. For four nights, the grand total comes to $2,549, down from $3,200. Meanwhile, the difference between three days and four days of lift tickets (for a family of four) comes to $280, so the condo-plus-lift-ticket savings come to a total of more than $900.

Even better: lift tickets are included for everyone in your suite, and lift tickets seem to be included whether you get the deal or not. While the $2,549 price tag may feel high, it does include $1,168 worth of lift tickets, which in theory brings your lodging rate down to $345 per night.

The "Stay Free & Ski Free" package is available through April 15; some restrictions apply. You can book online using the specials page, or just enter dates and look for the special rate; alternatively, you can call tel. 435/658-2500.

Up to 33% off Ski-and-Stay packages at Vermont's Okemo

Frustrated New England skiers, rejoice: Vermont received a few snowfalls late in this lean winter, dovetailing nicely with the end-of-season promotions rolling out from ski areas. Okemo Mountain Resort -- with 119 trails, a slopeside village, and a family-focused vibe -- recently announced its "Slide into Spring" weekend packages. Book a weekend stay in March and receive 33% off lodging for a three-night ski-and-stay package, or 20% off a two-night package. Even better? Kids ages 7-18 ski for just $1 -- a savings of $73 per child. Guests booking the package also receive 20% off coupons to use at Okemo's shops and restaurants.

We price-checked a three-night March weekend stay for a family of two adults and two teens at the slopeside Mountain Lodge. With the package, we found a nightly rate of $328 for a one-bedroom condo. That translates to a total price tag of $984 for lodging, lift tickets, and free skiing on the afternoon of your arrival. Without the offer, that same stay would cost $1,511. Sliding into spring will save you $527, or about 35%.

The fine print: the offer is based on space available and valid on new reservations only. Rates vary depending on dates of travel, unit type and specific location. Online booking is not available; call tel. 866/706-5366 and ask for the "Slide into Spring" package. is an award-winning family travel site, featuring reviews of kid-friendly hotels and resorts, expert planning advice, readers' travel tips, and more.
