St. Kitts, a 68-square-mile island in the West Indies, typically offers a lush, tropical Caribbean vacation experience that many travelers find resembles the South Pacific. If you can stand the heat and humidity, at least while you're out and about, then summer is a great time to visit, as rates are reduced. At the center of St. Kitts you'll find the dormant volcano, Mount Liamuiga. Explore rain forests, water sports, go hiking, and stay at plantation inns, hotels, or bungalow-style accommodations.
