A new month, a new Amtrak sale.
Not that we're complaining, but the national rail service has been throwing so many sales in 2021 you feel a bit silly when you don't get a discount.
Then again, most travelers aren't snagging the best fares because the sales have been of the "flash" variety—blink and you'll miss 'em.
In the latest case, you have until September 8 to buy tickets for train journeys from that date through November 18. A three-day advance purchase is required.
If you can work with that timeline, the savings are delicious—50% off in many cases.
Among routes offering slashed fares are trips between:
• New York and Boston aboard the Acela from just $49, or $28 for a non-high-speed train
• Chicago and Denver from just $63
• Los Angeles and Seattle from $63
• Miami and New York from $81
Note that Amtrak is waiving all change fees through January 4, 2022.
