Fully Revised for 2022, Our Guide to Disney World, Universal, and Orlando Is Now on Shelves

In July 2020, months before Covid-19 vaccination was available, grateful crowds tearfully swarmed back into the theme parks of Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando. Nothing, it seems, not even the uncertainty of a pandemic, could stifle Americans' passion for the big theme parks.

Likewise, nothing can stop Frommer's from serving those vacationers. Our award-winning guidebook Frommer's EasyGuide to Disney World, Universal, and Orlando is back on bookstore shelves in a fresh edition, newly revised from cover to cover to reflect the changes of the Covid era.

And there have been so many confusing changes! Disney, which in 2021 marked 50 years in Central Florida, seized the opportunity of the pandemic to radically shift how it generates profits from theme parks, adding new layers of preparation, additional fees, and more complicated reservations requirements that visitors didn't have to contend with two years ago. Meanwhile, Universal Orlando cut the ribbon on some incredible new attractions, including Jurassic World VelociCoaster, which takes the place of honor on our book's cover.

But never fear—our freshest Orlando publication includes expert guidance on all the latest changes at the parks. From navigating Disney's new reservations system and smartphone apps to figuring out mobile ordering requirements, we've got it all covered. We also include expert recommendations for Orlando's hotels at every price level, and, yet again, we're proud to say that our guide is the only one on the market to include a whole chapter of non-chain, family-owned restaurant suggestions at a moment when that means more than ever.

You could even say that the new Frommer's book is more up-to-date than what Disney itself can provide. Our guide includes an explanation of the controversial fee-based replacement to FastPass, Lightning Lane and Genie+—critical information that the latest edition of Disney's official guidebook, Birnbaum's, doesn't even mention in its 2022 edition.

As always, Frommer's makes vacation planning as simple as possible. We don't think preparing for an Orlando vacation should be a part-time job. Our tips are also fully independent and not sponsored, and they cut frustration by boiling down the necessary advice into the easiest and most understandable terms.

In fact, Frommer's sells the only Orlando guide that has been awarded Guide Book of the Year by the Lowell Thomas Awards from the Society of American Travel Writers.

Simplify your trip to Orlando! We love Disney—but we still tell it like it is.

The year 2022 marks 65 years of publication for Frommer's guidebooks—and there's a reason we've been trusted for that long. We're proud to return to the shelves by helping travelers make the most out of the increasingly complicated world of Disney and Universal.

You can buy Frommer's EasyGuide to Disney World, Universal, and Orlando from your favorite bookseller—it's available right now as both a paperback and an ebook.
