What was for many years an obscure under-visited attraction now sells out many days a week, thanks to the popularity of a certain musical. I wish I could tell you that seeing the house is a worthy alternative to scoring a precious ticket to the show. It isn’t. While the house itself is original (and moved three times—the highlight of a visit is the video about the engineering efforts behind getting the house to where it sits now), very little of the furniture belonged to founding father Alexander Hamilton’s family: it’s either reproductions or similar pieces from the era. And visitors only see four rooms; the servants quarters are now the museum part of the memorial, and the bedrooms aren’t open to the public.
