New Reservations Website for California State Parks

A new website for making reservations for campsites and activities at California's state parks debuts this week.

From now on, you'll need to go to ReserveCalifornia to book tent space in Humboldt Redwoods State Park, a beach cottage at Crystal Cove in Orange County, a tour of Hearst Castle (pictured above) in San Simeon, or facilities at more than 100 additional sites across the state, with around 40 more expected to be added by March.

The system replaces the previous ReserveAmerica site, which is still in use for many other outdoorsy spots across the country. For U.S. national parks reservations in California and elsewhere, Recreation.gov remains the go-to resource.

With ReserveCalifornia, you'll be able to make bookings six months in advance—though you will have to pay fees of $7.99 for each camping reservation and $3.99 per tour.

Reservations already made with ReserveAmerica for upcoming dates should still be valid. To make changes or cancellations, you'll need to create a new user profile at ReserveCalifornia, using the same email address you used for the original booking.

You can also contact ReserveCalifornia by phone at 800.444.7275.
