Airbnb has launched a new service called Trips, allowing users to book experiences in addition to the company's core short-term vacation rentals.
The new feature is a section of the site where you can browse listings for stuff like cooking classes, guided tours, and pub crawls, all offered by locals in whatever destination you're visiting.
Additionally, Airbnb users can now recommend specific restaurants, arts venues, bars, and other attractions for out-of-towners.
The idea is to provide customers the chance to immerse themselves fully in the place they're visiting, so that they experience it like a local.
Trips is currently available in Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami, San Francisco, Cape Town, Florence, Havana, London, Nairobi, Paris, Seoul, and Tokyo. The company plans to roll the feature out to 50 more cities next year.
