A new website for making reservations for campsites and activities at California's state parks debuts this week.
The system replaces the previous ReserveAmerica site, which is still in use for many other outdoorsy spots across the country. For U.S. national parks reservations in California and elsewhere, Recreation.gov remains the go-to resource.
With ReserveCalifornia, you'll be able to make bookings six months in advance—though you will have to pay fees of $7.99 for each camping reservation and $3.99 per tour.
Reservations already made with ReserveAmerica for upcoming dates should still be valid. To make changes or cancellations, you'll need to create a new user profile at ReserveCalifornia, using the same email address you used for the original booking.
You can also contact ReserveCalifornia by phone at 800.444.7275.
