New England states get all the attention when it comes to fall foliage, but there are other leafy places worth peeping during Pumpkin Spice Latte season.

One of the best in the Midwest is Wisconsin, where vivid displays in spots like the Kettle Moraine State Forest (pictured above) provide beautiful backdrops for scenic drives, waterfall hikes, and stops at orchards in small farm towns.

Travel Wisconsin, from the state's tourism board, is making it easy to plan a quest for the best-looking leaves with its Fall Color Report. A handy interactive map encompasses the entire state and features data compiled by more than 100 fall color reporters offering updates in real time to help you catch the reds, golds, oranges, and yellows at their peaks.

There are also tabs with info on events, activities, restaurants, and lodgings, and a feature that lets you upload and share your own photos of autumnal splendor in the Badger State.
