Janek, we love you.
This guy, who runs the Honest Prague Guide, stood in front of a money exchange office in Old Town Square, near the world-famous Astronomical Clock. His sole mission was to warn tourists that the joint is locally known for giving tourists a lousy rate. As he explains, the place sells the local currency for 15 to the euro when the actual rate should be more like 27 to the euro.
The story gets better. The snake oil salesmen behind the glass tried to silence him by calling the cops on him. The cops realized they couldn't stop him. So they called the state police. They, too, had to admit that Janek had the right to tell people that he didn't like the service.
So the money-grubbing goons handed him a letter threatening to send him to prison for years—just for standing out front and giving tourists his bad review. Good luck with that.
Janek, if you're reading this, drop us a line. We love tourism truth-telling like yours.
