One of our contributors, Robert Haru Fisher, is conducting his class in Travel Writing down in Key West next month, and there are still five empty seats in the third session. Although the first two sessions are completely filled (there is a maximum of 14 in each class), seats are available for the classes starting on February 15 (with a reception the evening before).
Classes are held for four hours on Saturday the 15th, four on Sunday, February 16. In addition to the classes, each student can meet with Bob for a private tutorial, which is optional. Assignments for the weekend are given out on Saturday, and can be completed on the weekend or up to three months after classes end. Cost of tuition is $275.
Bob has been conducting these classes for about ten winters now and is quite qualified to teaching travel writing; in addition to his ongoing role as a contributing editor to Frommers.com, he is a past editor-in-chief of the Fodor Travel Guides, and has worked with two other series of books in the travel field. He's also a former president of the Society of American Travel Writers and former Secretary of the British Guild of Travel Writers. His current other interests in travel include being vice president of a charitable organization, the International Association for Medical Assistance to Travelers (IAMAT) and chairman of the Hotel & Restaurant Unsafe Food Labeling Action Committee (HARUFLAC).
