L’Atelier de Nicolas

Hidden down a side street, this is a great find away from the main tourist spots, and usually full of locals. The building is nearly as old as the nearby fortifications, but inside it’s a modern, industrial-style space. The cooking may be based on classic French dishes, but again this is a modern take with added Asian influences that subtly enhance the flavors. Start with heritage tomato tarte tatin topped with cucumber and wasabi sorbet, then move on to pan-fried tuna with Chimichurri sauce. The chef uses organic products where possible and is particularly careful on allergies. Tucked down a side street, this is a great find away from the main tourist spots, and usually full of locals. Reservations are recommended in high season.
