Atelier de Cézanne
A 10-min. (uphill) stroll north of Aix’s Old Town, Cézanne’s studio offers visitors a unique glimpse into the artist’s daily life. Because the building remained untouched for decades after Cézanne’s death in 1906, the studio has remained perfectly preserved for close to a century. Note the furnishings, vases, and small figurines on display, all of which feature in the modern master’s drawings and canvases. Cézanne aficionados will also enjoy both Jas de Bouffan, the artist’s family manor, and the inspirational Cubist landscape of the Bibémus Quarries.
