Swallows and Amazons Tours

Swallows and Amazons has been run by married couple Mark and Tania Aitchison for more than three decades. The company's core offering is a classic riverboat trip on the Amazon and Rio Negro, with plenty of time to explore the territory around the Anavilhanas Archipelago.

Each riverboat has a captain, cook, and English-speaking certified guide. Voyages to Jaú National Park, the Branco River, and the town of Barcelos are also available. The company offers houseboat tours, too.

Experienced and certified safe by Brazil's Ministry of Tourism and the Brazilian Ecotourism and Adventure Tourism Trade Association, Swallows and Amazons requires customers to book tours ahead of time (to avoid fraudulent tour operators on the ground in Manaus) by contacting the company's Massachusetts-based sales office by phone, email (info@swallowsandamazonstours.com), or the Swallows and Amazons website.
