No Wi-Fi, no air conditioning, no TV’s….but no distractions from the charms of Belize. That about sums up Ruby’s where the rooms are basic, but very clean and the welcome is warm. The long-established hotel is within walking distance of the airstrip (it’s the three-story whitewashed building with blood-red gingerbread trim) and also an easy stroll from all of the restaurants in town. Be sure to get one of the rooms overlooking the water, as the street-facing ones can be loud. Downstairs you’ll find Ruby’s Deli, which is a good place for breakfast or a casual midday meal. These folks also have a separate hotel on the lagoon side of the island, with clean, spacious, simple rooms; shared bathrooms; and even lower prices.
