A quaint red-brick building with red-and-white–striped awning houses this locals’ Lowcountry mainstay serving Southern specials such as pan-fried pork cube steak, fried crab cakes, Salisbury steak with spicy dirty rice, and smothered chicken with white-cream gravy. While there’s little to write home about in terms of its downhome, diner-like ambience, The Marina is the quintessence of a comfort-food joint. They speak Southern Fried (fried beer-battered broccoli!) and they speak it fluently.
