This quirky place is decked out in madcap tiles and colors like something Gaudí would have designed in Barcelona, but it is just off Rembrandtplein in the heart of Amsterdam’s nighttime action. Part of the charm has to be the Catalan owner Dhillon and his oddball Georgian partner, who are outgoing party people, because although the tapas (garlic prawns, albondigas meatballs, tortilla) are decent they're certainly not the world's best and the place doesn't get going until after 11pm. However, when the cocktails start coming across the bar—which is stacked with Spanish brandies and South American tequilas–you can forgive the food as the partying flows out into the streets. Friday and Saturday are salsa nights.
