Anchorage Grand Hotel
Though this is called a hotel today, it was built as an apartment building, meaning that all the units (and this is an all suite hotel), have full kitchens, helpful in a city where food can be pricey. Beyond that perk, this is a comfortable, low-key place to stay with a nice location overlooking the port in the heart of downtown, steps from the Alaska Railroad depot. We have to give kudos to the crack housekeeping staff who keep the hotel spotless.
