Organized Tours & Ranger Programs

From spring through fall, rangers lead 2-mile guided hikes into the Fiery Furnace area daily, by reservation. Cost is $10 per adult, $5 per child from 5 to 12. Children 5 to 13 must be accompanied by an adult, and children under 5 are not permitted. Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance (no more than 6 months in advance) online at www.recreation.gov. As you hike along, a ranger describes the desert plants, points out hard-to-find arches, and discusses the geology and natural history of the Fiery Furnace. Also see the section on the Fiery Furnace under "Hiking". Also from spring through fall, rangers lead daily nature walks from various park locations, and present evening campfire programs, which cover topics such as rock art, geological processes, and wildlife. Check the schedule at the visitor center and on bulletin boards throughout the park.
