Bar Alcaraván

Under new management in 2014, this atmospheric bar sits below the Plaza del Cabildo. In fact, the rooms are actually the vaulted cellars of a palace on the plaza. The menu remains hearty casual food, including regional sausages, fried cuttlefish, baked eggplant stuffed with ham, and stewed octopus. (Arcos has quick road connections to the fishing village of El Puerto de Santa María.) Even on an off night, you’re likely to hear a classical guitarist playing. On weekends, there are sometimes flamenco performances.
