Nilometer
The Ptolemaic Nilometer of Satet is the more interesting of two such devices for measuring the level of the Nile on Elephantine Island. If you have a flashlight with you, descend the stairs from the Aswan Museum; otherwise, check it out from the boat on the way back. From there you can see the inscribed cartouches of Tutmoses III and Amenhotep III.
