This hotel does a brisk business with repeat guests so it's not always easy to get a room. Its residential side street allows for pleasant people watching as children head off to school and neighbors visit each other in the evening. It is often possible to hear part of the performances at the Herodes Atticus quite clearly; one afternoon, from my balcony (all rooms have balconies), I heard the legendary Greek folk-singer Domna Samiou warming up for her evening concert. Rooms are on the small side, simply furnished, but most are freshly painted each year. Number 405 overlooks Filopappos Hill, while others, like 407, face the Acropolis. It's a 15-minute walk from the Acropolis View into the heart of the Plaka.
